Cota Street Campus & Gallery 27
Brooks Institute’s Cota Street Campus & Gallery 27 are located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, serving as one of city’s largest galleries. With innovative design and functional classroom facilities, the Cota Street Campus provides photography and art exhibitions, and instructional and screening room space to showcase the emerging and established creative talents of its students, faculty, and alumni photographers, filmmakers and graphic designers.
Transformed through renovation in 2005, the Cota Street Campus & Gallery 27 have been renovated to blend bright colors and industrial design in a manner that embraces and complements the historic architectural and mechanical elements of the building and surrounding city. The result is an artistic vision as impressive as the artists’ work it hosts.
Gallery 27 is a public gallery, open Saturday through Thursday from 10-9 pm and Fridays 10-5 pm, except during Brooks Institute break weeks. To receive information on upcoming exhibitions and events, including our participation in the Downtown Organization’s 1st Thursday events, call 888-304-3456 or visit our website at www.brooks.edu.

Here students have access to utilize a valuable inventory of photographic equipment for both on and off campus use. Students may check out equipment varying from 35mm, medium and large format film cameras, a wide variety of professional digital cameras, lenses, digital video cameras, electronic flash, location and studio lighting kits, backdrops, and more.
Ventura Campus and Visions Gallery
The Ventura Campus houses our Film and Video Production, Graphic Design, and Visual Journalism Programs. The campus spreads across 8 acres, occupying about 70,000 square feet of work space. Formerly a motion picture studio, the campus is complete with a back lot, swings sets, sound stages, and computer labs for editing and graphic design.
With the look of a resort, we run a functional campus. Just beyond the fountain is the entrance to the Administration Building where students will find student services, the library, café, student management and much more. The campus has been outfitted with industry-standard computers and software, spacious computer labs, wireless connectivity throughout the campus, as well as a host of other options and opportunities designed specifically with the future in mind.
