Digital Color Correction and Management
While photograph color, density, and contrast correction has gained a reputation for being esoteric, this seminar will unfold the mysteries of these processes, making them more user-friendly.
This comprehensive two-day workshop covers image color correction and reproduction in a digital environment.
Day one: learn several features of Adobe Photoshop including
Levels and curves commands. Image correction tools (apply image, blend modes, selective color, and the channel mixer). Multiple sharpening techniques including Unsharp Mask.
Day two: learn about the following features through lectures and demonstrations:
Spaces, device gamuts, ICC profiles, and profiled workflow Monitor calibration and profiling and printer profiling
You will also learn how to reproduce images accurately on a wide variety of output devices.
About the Instructor
Rob Winner holds a B.A. and a M.S. degree in photography. Currently, he’s a Brooks Institute faculty member in the Professional Photography program and is responsible for creating the school’s Digital Capture and Digital Color Production courses. Based on his prior experience as a professional photographer and as teacher, Winner teaches from a unique, insightful perspective.
Recommended experience: Beginner – advanced photographers seeking better digital file output. A basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is required.
