Travel Photography

Whether you are a Santa Barbara local or a visitor this comprehensive workshop will teach you to better capture those memorable holiday moments using the techniques of the pros. This hands-on course covers topics including photographing people, architecture, activities, food, and landscapes. You can also learn about proper trip preparation, health, and travel skills for a safer, healthier, and more enjoyable experience. Saturday Chuck will give power point presentations, lectures, shooting assignments, and optional evening dinner at Elements Restaurant across from the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse. Sunday, you’ll receive valuable individual critiques of your class assignments and of your holiday images or travel portfolio (if you choose to bring them along).

About the Instructor

Chuck Place is a 25-year editorial photography veteran. Hes shot for such famed publications as National Geographic Traveler, Islands, Smithsonian Books, Sunset, Popular Photography and Tamron Camera Lenses. His stock imagery of travel subjects has appeared in a wide range of magazines, including Life, Travel & Leisure, Arizona Highways and Outdoor Photographer Magazines, as well as calendars and books by National Geographic, Audubon, Barnes &Noble and the National Park Service. Place has solely produced six photography books; he is currently an instructor at Brooks Institute.
