Magic of Portraiture
If you are an amateur photographer or are further pursuing your talent in photographing people then this workshop is right for you. Through lecture and demonstration, you'll explore simple techniques and innovative approaches to portraiture photography, snapping photos of individuals, couples, families, or groups.
Students can learn how to capture the elegance of window lighting, how to find beautiful light in environmental settings, and how to direct and guide subjects to create natural, relaxed poses. Wilson will provide valuable critique following photo shoots.
About the Instructor
Joyce Wilson, who is considered one of the leading portrait photographers in the world, claims that if the photographer can keep it simple the technical decisions become second nature and the photographer is then free to create magic with his subjects. Wilson established herself in the portrait/commercial world more than 40 years ago. Over the past 25 years, she has been exploring the world of fine art through personal projects and by teaching creative workshops. She is renowned for her trademark images depicting the mythology and spirituality of the human form. Wilson's work is displayed in several art galleries, featured in solo and group exhibitions, and is part of the permanent collection at the International Photography Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, OK.
