I just wanted you to know what a fabulous experience our 16 year-old son Mike had at the 5@9 Workshop last summer. Mike is eager to sign up for the advanced course this summer..., Since that first 5@9 course, Mike has won first place in a local photo contest and was appointed photo editor for both the yearbook and newspaper.
Thank you -Barbara
If you're a high school student who enjoys taking pictures, or considering photography as a more serious pursuit, maybe even a career, then attending this workshop is highly recommended.
In only five days, you can create memories of lifetime and lasting friendships while extensively learning all of the basics needed to pursue your interest in photography. Through lecture and hands-on instruction, you can learn how f/stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, ISO standards, control of motion and principles of lighting affect photo quality and you'll reduce your dependence on your cameras automatic feature.
Like real professionals, you'll shoot on location and in the studio. You'll explore lighting options and photographic and compositional techniques. You'll work with digital- and outputting your images in Photoshop, you're assured to have proficiency by the end of the week. Most exciting, you and your classmates will finish the week with a photography exhibition of your work.
This is a popular program, early enrollment is encouraged.
