For more than 60 years, Brooks Institute has been a launching pad for students with a passion for the visual and media arts. Now, in partnership with the Travel Channel, the only television network devoted exclusively to travel entertainment, Brooks is opening its doors to those with a passion for travel and filmmaking. Travel Channel Academy, the only professional-grade travel-focused digital filmmaking bootcamp on the planet, will be held Oct 30-Nov 1, 2008 at Brooks’ Cota Street location. In just four days, students of the Academy will learn the art and science of travel video production and will learn how they can use their newfound skills to produce content for the Travel Channel after the course.

Students of the Travel Channel Academy will receive:

Valuable filmmaking skills that will propel creative and career ambitions
Hands-on training from industry experts with decades of experience teaching the art of storytelling, shooting and editing
Contact with Travel Channel executives before and after the course, many of whom have produced such hit shows as Bizarre Foods, 1000 Places to See Before You Die, Most Haunted Live, and Made in America
A chance to share their work with millions of viewers nationwide through Travel Channel’s TV, online and mobile platforms
